Blossom Midwifery offers exceptional maternity services through our Blossom birth program to clients in Richmond. As a trusted provider of maternity care at our Richmond birth center, we are committed to upholding our legacy of excellence in midwifery with our dedicated midwives.

At Blossom Midwifery, we believe that maternity care should be client-centred. We strive to provide care that is tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences. Our goal is to empower our patients to take an active role in their health and well-being.

Midwifery has been a regulated profession in British Columbia since 1998. Midwives are university educated and professionally trained to serve as your primary healthcare care provider for the entire duration of your pregnancy, labour, birth, and until six weeks postpartum.
Midwifery care is fully covered by BC Medical Services Plan (MSP).

We provide you with expert care and ongoing support during your pregnancy and birth. We order and oversee regular tests (such as ultrasounds and bloodwork) and interpret/discuss your results with you.
After you give birth, we follow and support you and your newborn for up to six weeks after delivery.
Our postpartum services include feeding support whether you plan to breastfeed of formula feed..

Lori has a long history in BC healthcare. First as a Registered Nurse since 1983, she worked with families and children at BC Children's Hospital and taught nursing students. In 2007, she became a Registered Midwife and has worked with families at Richmond Hospital.

Lori has a long history in BC healthcare. First as a Registered Nurse since 1983, she worked with families and children at BC Children's Hospital and taught nursing students. In 2007, she became a Registered Midwife and has worked with families at Richmond Hospital.
A life long learner, Lori is always looking for ways to improve practice and meet the needs of clients. In 2014, she completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree which focused on improving the diagnosis of labour and supporting women in early labour. In 2015, she was the first midwife asked to participate in the Physician Leadership Program through the UBC Sauder School of Business.
